Whether you think you can, or you think you can't - you're right!

Writing a first blog post has been something I've been trying to do for weeks now. Being a bit of a perfectionist and an eternal researcher I Googled "What to write in a first blog post" - this was very helpful at first, but then after reading the first few ideas and compiling answers to about 40 different questions I decided it wasn't helpful at all, as everything I had written was far too formal.

Many years ago, when the kids were small I started my first blog. I loved it. It was a record of our simple little life, quite a few recipes - lots relating to Herman the German friendship cake (have any of you had a Herman before?), a few of my creative endeavours and a list of 30 things that I was going to do before I was 30.

When I wrote my 30 by 30 I hadn't planned on separating from my then husband by the time I was 30 and subsequently getting divorced and moving back to my home town just after. Needless to say I have still only completed 9 of the list of 30 and quite a few are irrelevant now, for example: 17. 'Spend more time with my husband' certainly isn't something I'm planning on doing any time soon!

Looking back at this list a lot of the simpler home-based goals are very similar, goals such as being more organised, keeping on top of clutter and reducing household bills are still part of our lives. Being a single mum you have to be in control of everything that goes on in the house and I've learned quite a few tricks over the years. I'd have to say my journal has to be my number one organisational tool, have you heard of Bullet Journalling? There will definitely be more on that in later blog posts.

Anything to make my life run smoother and keep me at the top of my 'Mummy game' is a win for me and I can't wait to share all that I've found out through my past ups and downs. My favourite thing is food as you will learn but I am equally as passionate about wellness. Being more organised and tending to my personal wellness means I have more time to enjoy being in the present, especially as a mum, it's so important to be able to react to anything that needs immediate attention, which really could be anything with the kids around!

Thank you so much for being here. Is there anything I can help you with? Are there any questions you would like to ask or topics you'd like me to write about?

And as for thinking that you can or can't - I didn't think I could write any more, I thought my inspiration had left me but I went back to my first blog and found I had left it there! Let me know if you have something that you think you can't do and let's see if we can change your mind.
